Sand dams make a massive difference to dryland communities and the supply of water can pull people out of a subsistence living and create opportunities for education and agriculture and in turn security and economic growth. The spread of education and security can only be a good thing in these times of an increasingly fragmented world where tension and hostility are often all too prevalent. We need to look beyond our own borders and support others in our global community. I believe that this charity and the sand dam project can contribute to this goal.
