Remember a Charity Week: Will you create lasting change with sand dams?

Remember a Charity Week is organised by Remember a Charity, of which Sand Dams Worldwide is a proud member. The Week takes place every September (this year from the 11th-17th) and it is a time when over 200 charities team up to raise awareness of legacy giving and the difference you can make by leaving a charitable gift to a cause close to your heart.

As many people aren't aware of this type of giving, Remember a Charity and Sand Dams Worldwide want to increase understanding of gifts in Wills and make this type of donation something that everyone considers.

Here is what Sand Dams Worldwide lined up for Remember a Charity Week:

Monday 11th September: Chairman’s blog – ‘A word about legacy giving’

Chairman David Jordan OBE blogged about the importance of legacy giving, and the lasting difference such gifts can make to those living in some of the poorest and driest regions of the world. Click here to read our Chairman's blog

Tuesday 12th September: Free live webinar and Q&A with Sand Dams Worldwide

Wednesday 13th September: Sand Dams Worldwide Team Quiz

As part of our own internal training on legacy giving, the staff of Sand Dams Worldwide took part in a quiz about leaving lasting gifts in Wills. The winner of the quiz was our Head of Programmes, Christine! See here:

Thursday 14th September: September Appeal launch

We launched our latest appeal focused on how sand dams help create lasting benefits. The appeal features inspiring stories from two community members from southeast Kenya whose sand dam project was funded by a legacy gift from one of our supporters. Friday 15th September: Column in The Guardian
